Atomic Habits Without Humanity Are Just Another Form of Pressure
James Clear’s Atomic Habits reminds us that small actions matter. This insight is valuable — but only if we apply it with honesty. For people living with illness, trauma, or loss, habits are not simply choices. They are negotiations with limited energy. At RST, we ask a different question: “What is the smallest habit that preserves dignity, not productivity?” Sometimes that habit is: sitting upright for a few minutes drinking water with attention choosing rest without guilt Consistency does not always look impressive. But it can still be meaningful. Habits are not meant to prove discipline. They are meant to support life as it actually is. When habits are aligned with reality, they stop feeling like self-control — and start feeling like self-respect.
